Community Voices Heard Power (CVHP) is a multi-racial member-led organization that builds power through grassroots organizing. We organize to build power that can change systems and shape policies that ensure social, racial, and economic justice for all New Yorkers.
Position Summary:
We are hiring enthusiastic, motivated individuals to join our team in Poughkeepsie, New York. Our goal is not only educate but to encourage and move people to vote on November 8th. This is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable campaign field experience. Shifts available 7 days a week.
Pay Rate: $15.00 per hour
Start Date: NOW
End Date: 8 November
Shifts: Available shifts everyday until Election Day
Monday-Friday 4-9pm, Saturday 11-4, Sunday 1pm-6pm

*You MUST be able to commit to the shifts you sign up for!
*BILINGUAL (SPANISH) SPEAKERS NEEDED!
Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To:
- Communicate regularly with the Field Coordinator/Lead to get turf assignments,
- Arrive on time and stay throughout each one of the shifts that you work,
- Reach numerical goals set per shift, gather legible information from community residents, and report your numbers nightly after every shift.
- Educate targeted constituencies through door-to-door outreach
- Be willing and able to problem solve independently
and in a team setting
Qualities Required:
- Canvassers must have excellent communication skills.
- Canvassers must work well in a team/solo and be flexible to changing conditions.
- Canvassers must be comfortable talking to new people in underserved communities
- Able to digest information about new issues quickly
- Access to a vehicle is preferred but not required. Mileage is reimbursed.
- Canvass experience is a plus, but not necessary
