Democratic Party of Virginia Spring/Summer Fellows Program
The Democratic Party of Virginia is looking for talented Fellows in multiple departments who believe in once again in making Virginia the best place to live, work and raise a family. Fellows must have an interest in politics, especially Virginia politics, excellent written and oral communication skills. Fellows should be prepared to use their own laptop computers if they have them and may be asked to attend events in Richmond and around the Commonwealth of Virginia.
During the program, you will gain knowledge and insight on the core functions of each department within the organization and the important role the party plays in winning elections. Fellowship positions are available in the following departments:
- Information Technology
-Communications
INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY FELLOW
IT Fellows will work closely under supervision with the IT Director. IT Fellows will assist the IT department with projects and support day-to-day work objectives; in various IT departments. Successful candidates will be selected based on the following qualifications:
Good research, analytical and organizational skills.
Ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Ability to operate a computer and related software.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications or related software.
COMMUNICATIONS FELLOW
Candidates should possess strong oral and written communication skills, solid organizational skills and attention to detail, and sound political instincts. He or she must also have the ability to work independently, meet tight deadlines, and balance multiple projects at once. All candidates should be familiar with Microsoft Office suite. *Please send writing sample with your resume.
*Candidates should be current college students or recent graduates. The internship will be unpaid full-time, starting ASAP.
DIGITAL FELLOW
Candidates should possess strong oral and written
communication skills, solid organizational skills and attention to detail, and
sound political instincts. He or she must also have the ability to work
independently, meet tight deadlines, and balance multiple projects at once.
Candidates should possess a strong knowledge on Photoshop and be able to cut
and clip web-video. Candidates will be asked to create content for our digital
platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, as well as our website.
*Candidates should be current college students or recent graduates.
The internship will be unpaid full-time, starting ASAP.
