JOB DESCRIPTION:
Sara Jacobs for Congress is seeking organizers to assist in building a grassroots organization that will lead to her win in June. CA 49 will play a crucial role in the blue wave of 2018.
Organizers will be responsible for various tasks centered on engaging voters in communities across the state. Organizers should be high energy, outgoing, enthusiastic, and interested in having a real impact on the future of the district and the country. Candidates with experience building coalitions among diverse groups of people and working with volunteers and activists to organize at the grassroots level are preferred.
Tasks & Responsibilities
Immerse yourself in local communities to start building an infrastructure that will assist Democratic campaigns throughout the cycle. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Building and managing a robust volunteer organization
Developing relationships with activists and political leaders.
Identifying, recruiting, and interviewing fellowship applicants
Engaging Democratic County Committees and other Progressive networks to start building up volunteer teams throughout the district
Executing data and metrics-driven voter turnout program in the geographic area assigned
Required Skills & Background
Exceptionally organized, willingness to take an initiative, flexible with eagerness and ability to meet strict deadlines
Access to a vehicle and a cell phone; frequent daily travel should be expected
Disciplined, and can-do approach to all tasks
Experience working for political campaigns prefered
Ability to train and instruct teams of volunteers
Excellent listening skills and ability to communicate effectively both in writing and verbally
Disciplined and solution-oriented approach in setting and achieving measurable targets
