The Gwen Graham for Congress campaign is looking for an experienced, energetic Communications Director. The ideal candidate must be a self-starter, hard worker and team player. The ideal candidate must be willing to relocate to Tallahassee, FL, have a working car and laptop and be able to start working in early to mid May. Job Responsibilities:

Responsible for designing and executing an aggressive communications strategy for the campaign, including online and traditional media.
Plans and executes innovative earned media campaign across entire district
Responsible for all online/digital communications including website, social media, etc.
Responsible for drafting press releases, talking points and other communication material.
Drafts and edits campaign policy positions, candidate speeches, talking points, press releases, action alerts, etc.
Fields and answers media requests.
Develop relationships with bloggers, editors, print reporters, and
columnists.
Executes rapid response for breaking news stories.
Accompanies candidate to press interviews/events.
Serves as the campaign’s primary on-the-record spokesperson.
Works with reporters and editors to shape stories.
Schedules and executes press events across the district
Conducts media opinion leader outreach including editorial board visits to secure endorsements and support.
Works closely with Field staff around messaging and communications goals, such as letters to the editor.
Works closely with the Finance Director to draft content for fundraising appeals.
Monitors opponent’s campaign and press activities.

Qualifications and Experience:

The ideal candidate will have policy experience at either the state or federal level and at least one cycle of experience on a campaign in a communications role.
Strong writing and editing skills.
Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously, meeting frequent deadlines.
Relentless dedication to the campaign's success.
Strong organizational skills and excellent follow-through.
On-the-record experience preferred
Salary commensurate with experience and qualifications.
