Howdy!
The Mike Martinez for Mayor campaign is hiring field canvassers for the 2014 mayoral race in Austin, Texas. Field canvassers will go door-to-door to identify supporters, persuade those still undecided, provide campaign literature, and explain the voting process. This is an exceptionally unique opportunity to get to know Austin's cool, diverse communities, learn about modern political campaigning, and to be a part of real positive change for the city!
Full training will be given, and canvassers will have the unique opportunity to learn the nuts-and-bolts of grassroots political organizing. Canvassers will be paid $11.00/hour.
Ideal candidates should:
**Be able to work full-time (some part-time canvassing positions will be available)
**Be enthusiastic and passionate about Austin
**Have excellent communication skills and a willingness to learn
**Have a driver's license and fully insured vehicle
**Must have the ability to work in the evening and on weekends
**Have the ability to walk door-to-door for 4+ hours per day.
