About Organizing for Action
Organizing for Action (OFA) is a non-partisan, issue advocacy organization committed to growing the grassroots movement by training, educating, and activating civically engaged community members across the country. As a grassroots driven organization, OFA is dedicated to empowering action takers with the skills and tools needed to make a difference in their communities. We’re harnessing this energy for the midterm elections by organizing efforts in key districts and states to elect leaders who will stand up for their constituents on the issues that matter most.
Qualifications
We are seeking candidates to support OFA’s 2018 midterm election priorities. Candidates should excel at project management and have strong political acumen, writing skills, and attention to detail.
Successful candidates will:
- Have a demonstrated understanding of political campaigns and awareness of and interest in 2018 elections
- Have a strong writing skills and an acute attention to detail
- Have a strategic sensibility - demonstrating an understanding of political strengths and liabilities among allies and targets, and how to use them most effectively to further campaign objectives
- Have the ability to handle multiple priorities and successfully meet deadlines in a challenging environment.
- Be a creative self starter and develop content that drives engagement and highlights OFA’s unique programming
- Be able to synthesize complicated political developments for easy digestion by staff and OFA volunteers
- Be solutions-oriented, setting projections and hitting goals within legal and optical parameters
- Work collaboratively and effectively across teams to facilitate strong communication and project execution
Responsibilities
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Formulating strategy and messaging for OFA’s Organizing for ‘18 campaigns alongside campaigns and communications team leadership.
- Driving communications, press, and digital content production for OFA’s campaigns
- Tracking OFA target campaign races, creating engagement opportunities, and supporting political and partner relationships
- Supporting relationship with local press and coordinating internally to identify opportunities to pitch local press stories
- Proactively searching for outreach opportunities to establish OFA’s presence and engage in activity in 2018 target races
Compensation
Compensation commensurate with experience.
