The Texas Democratic Party is seeking an experienced Coordinated Campaign Director to lead in the development and execution of a statewide coordinated campaigns to boost Democratic performance in targeted areas and elect Democrats up and down the ticket in 2016.

Description: The Coordinated Campaign Organizing Director will be responsible for overseeing the entire 2016 coordinated campaign volunteer-powered engagement effort, emphasizing base Democratic voters, communities of color, early voting and GOTV. The Coordinated Director must have the ability to work collaboratively with partner organizations, complete projects under tight deadlines, and maintain a positive attitude. This person must be able to work with local Democratic leaders to develop local electoral strategies, execute plans, engage and inspire volunteers, manage teams, and build diverse coalitions. The position will be based in Austin, and will require statewide travel.


Responsibilities:

·         Work closely with the TDP’s Data Director to develop and execute a detailed, statewide plan, working with local parties and candidates to identify metrics and goals for county and regional teams

·         Support the local and regional voter contact efforts of local parties, and help them coordinate locally with Democratic candidates, active Democratic clubs, and progressive Democratic allies

·         Regularly communicate with statewide partners to collaborate, create plans, share information, and track progress towards shared statewide goals

·         Train local leaders and support local efforts to engage existing volunteer networks and to bring new volunteers into the Democratic Party

·         Develop and execute a system to help local parties track and manage volunteer resources efficiently and effectively to accomplish voter contact goals.

·         Organize ID canvasses and phonebanks in conjunction with local campaigns.

·         Report on progress of efforts to party leaders and partner organizations

·         Use VAN database to maintain accurate and up-to-date voter file records.

·         Working with TDP staff and partner organizations, lead in organizing periodic training events for candidates, activists, and campaign staffs

·         Assure that the TDP, its mission, programs, and services are promoted broadly and positively

·         Coordinate get out the vote activities.

·         Other responsibilities as assigned


Preferred Qualifications:

·         Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

·         At least two (2) cycles of work experience in campaign field organizing or community organizing (or both)

·         A management-level role (a) on a campaign for federal or statewide office, (b) as staff for a party organization or a statewide coordinated campaign

·         Proficiency with voter targeting, plan development, training, voter identification, base-vote and get-out-the-vote drives

·         Knowledge and use of VAN including MyVoters and MyCampaign; and field management tools such as National Field.

·         Experience organizing in partnership with communities of color.

·         Proven track record of effective staff management

·         Ability to bring structure in a growing and dynamic environment

·         Highly organized and detail-oriented individual
