Community Outreach Group, LLC is part of Planned Parenthood, but a separate organization that is available to act as a vendor of large-scale advocacy and electoral programs for affiliates, local c4 organizations, Planned Parenthood Federation of America, the Action Fund and Planned Parenthood Votes for contracted field programs.  Community Outreach Group is available to assist in electoral programs in two ways: (1) Run door to door paid canvasses (2) Hire Electoral staff

General Description
The Deputy Canvass Manager will assist in overseeing a robust door-to door canvass program in one of our several locations in key electoral states to persuade and turn out voters for Planned Parenthood’s preferred candidates. Each deputy canvass manager may work with 1-3 full time professional staff, as well as up to 45 hourly canvassers and team leaders. Deputy canvass managers will be responsible for helping to hit ambitious recruitment and voter contact goals within their assigned turf (no fundraising required), and support the Canvass Manager.

Duties and Responsibilities

•    Collaborate with the Canvass Manager to develop and implement all components of a strategic canvassing operation and budget for each key area
•    Recruit, train, and manage canvassers in each area
•    Utilize metrics-driven reporting system to track progress on daily, weekly, and monthly basis and implement rigorous quality control measures
•    Support Canvass Manager in all duties including field, operations, and data work.

 Qualifications

•    Experience working with paid and/or unpaid canvass programs
•    Strong leadership qualities and experience managing a large number of staff
•    At least 1 cycle of political or issue-based campaign
•    Strategic mindset with flexibility to quickly adjust tactics
•    Metrics-driven approach to planning, evaluating, and reporting on progress
•    Experience with VAN
•    Knowledge of political campaigns
•    Strong written and verbal communication skills
•    Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment
•    Experience in canvassing in diverse communities preferred
•    Willingness to relocate to the canvass city for the duration of the campaign with      reliable transportation and housing

 Compensation
 All employees are temporary through the election, pay is competitive and health benefits are available.
