Hi everyone,

There's a discussion going on at https://github.com/Islandora-CLAW/CLAW/issues/1181 that needs your input. Islandora 7.x allows an object to have multiple compound parents. For example, Compound object 1 (the parent) has object 2 and 3 as children, but child 3 is also a child of Compound object 4 so has multiple parents.

It will be substantially simpler in Islandora 8, at least for the time being, to only allow each object to have a single compound parent. We are seeking confirmation that no one using Islandora now has this need. If you do currently have this need, please leave your opinion at the issue linked above prior to Friday, July 5.

Note that this question applies to Compound object parents only, it does not apply to membership in multiple collections, which apparently is a common use case.

Thank you,

Mark
