The British Columbia Electronic Library Network proposes that the Islandora Badges module, https://github.com/bondjimbond/islandora_badges, become an Islandora component, with a canonical repo on GitHub owned by the Islandora Foundation, subject to the same release management and documentation processes as other Islandora modules.

The module is available under the GPLv3 license.

All contributors have signed a CLA, and sent it in to Melissa Anez (Project & Community Manager).

Brandon,

Thanks for this as well! Following our Licensed Software Acceptance Procedure [1], I will take this to the next Islandora Roadmap Committee meeting to run it through the next steps.

In preparation for the next Roadmap Committee meeting, an update:

On the recommendations from the Committers' Call, Islandora Badges has been broken out into submodules, for better integration with the existing Islandora Altmetrics, as well as simplified addition of new badges.

A PR is also out, merging soon, adding an oaDOI submodule - takes an object's DOI, and if there is (a) no PDF datastream already, and (b) a fulltext link is available via the oaDOI API, generates a block linking to the free fulltext PDF.
