Islandora Populator

discoverygarden proposes that:

Islandora Populator https://github.com/discoverygarden/islandora_populator

become an Islandora component, with a canonical repo on GitHub

owned by the Islandora Foundation, subject to the same release

management and documentation processes as other Islandora modules.

The module is available under the GPLv3 license, the same

license used for all Islandora modules.

All contributors are included under DGI's Corporate Contributor Licence Agreement.

A module called "popular" sounded interesting, so I went to look it up (https://github.com/discoverygarden/islandora_populator -- not the link under the URL in the message).  The description says: "A framework to facilitate the population of XML forms during the usual ingest workflow."  So is something like the templating function that is built into the form builder?  But perhaps just a little bit more transparent to the GUI user?

Sorry for the bad link http://github.com/discoverygarden/islandora_populator is a good url. If you'd like to see what the framework can do there are some optional modules in scholar using it for example:  https://github.com/Islandora/islandora_scholar/tree/7.x/modules/ris/modules/ris_populator
