Title	Data Scientist at the Smart Decision Solutions Group
Job Description	This role specializes in performing problem determination and problem source identification in software environments. Responsibilities include: - problem analysis, evaluation, recreation, and resolution of client reported problems - the use of relevant problem management systems to search for known problems and to create new entries/update existing entries - advice and guidance to clients regarding the use of software - the use of IBM technical resources and tools to answer client questions and respond to clients requirements Software environments include operating systems, programming languages, database management systems, packages, development tools, etc.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise	A solid understanding of the theory underlying Statistical thinking, Statistical methodology and Machine Learning algorithms and methods   Practical experience with applying Statistical modelling and predictive analytics (basic knowledge of computational complexity - an advantage) Profound hands-on programming skills with environments such as R, Python, Matlab (basic knowledge of Java - an advantage) Experience with databases (SQL, NoSQL) Eager to learn and apply Data munging and Data scraping techniques Being open minded regarding acquiring new theoretical and computational Data Scientist skills    Intellectual curiosity and passion to transform (raw) data into actionable insight Good communication skills and willingness to teach and mentor others
