Grade 9: £45,066 - £52,219 p.a. with attractive package of overseas benefit

The Oxford University Clinical Research Unit (OUCRU-VN) is a large-scale clinical and public health research unit with sites in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi in Vietnam and related Units in Kathmandu, Nepal and Jakarta, Indonesia. Through an integrated, long-term research programme, OUCRU-VN aims to have a positive and significant impact on global health and, in particular, on the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of infectious diseases.

We are currently looking for a dynamic and motivated Head of Biostatistics to be based at OUCRU-VN in Ho Chi Minh city, Vietnam. The Biostatistics group leads the statistical design and analysis of all major studies including all randomised controlled trials (RCTs) and supports other studies by providing statistical consulting, analysis and training for clinical and laboratory researchers. The group also conducts independent methodological and applied statistical research.

The successful candidate will have a PhD in Biostatistics, Statistics or a closely related field and post-doctoral work experience. You will have experience in the design, analysis, and reporting of large-scale randomized, multicentre trials within either academia or the pharmaceutical industry. Experience in tropical medicine, infectious disease research and supervising PhD students would be an asset.

This post is fixed-term for 3 years in the first instance with opportunity to renew.

If no suitable applicants are identified on Grade 9 an appointment on Grade 8 (£38,896 - £46,414 p.a.) with an appropriate adjustment in the duties may be considered.
