As a follow up to my previous e-mail concerning the NCEI cookbook for submitting your observational data to NCEI, we have now released Version 2.0 of the netCDF templates. Since we are now NCEI, the name of the templates has changed from NODC to NCEI, however that doesn't change their purpose or functionality. It's simply an organizational change. I will be updating the archive Google Site shortly to include the appropriate references and information regarding the new templates.

As detailed below:

Key highlights from this version:

- New template for Swath data

- Updated attributes in accordance to ACDD 1.3

- Updated guidance table

Happy to announce that Version 2.0 of the NCEI NetCDF Templates is now available on our website:

http://www.nodc.noaa.gov/data/formats/netcdf/v2.0/

Key highlights from this version:

- New template for Swath data

- Updated attributes in accordance to ACDD 1.3

- Updated guidance table

We will be adding specific CDL examples and links to them on our THREDDS data server as and when we start receiving new data sets that conform to this version.

Please share this information with all the data producers and the rest of the community that might be interested.
