Obviously it’s a media article but it certainly makes some right-sounding noises about how to systemically tackle cyber security...

...mandating MFA just sounds so logically but many large concerns shy away from it..but DU may have finessed it in...and the phishing sim is a good trick too (cos those things are cheap to run)...

Great work by DU! Love the phish alert button, and they've obviously done a very good job of educating users, thereby immunizing the organisation!

Agreed.

And it’s nice to see an org going hard in that field...

...but another part of me knows that because they have allocated resources, time, money to it...some other aspect, whether tech or an educational element will run to a leaner purse...so while the plaudits will rein in for their cyber-success...they may have irate malcontents slamming them for some perceived failing elsewhere...a sort of ‘wackamole’...I guess the trick is how to get the whole shebang purring in multiple divisions at the same time like a well conducted orchestra. And this is why cyber probably gets under serviced in most organisations...you can get away with stuff for a long time so you ride your luck and focus on other seemingly more pressing matters - a risk calculation ultimately (gambling). It’s never easy!!!

Yes, it's really like paying your insurance - it seems like a useless expense for most of the time - until it doesn't!  Ideally, we'll just get better at incorporating security as part of any new design; cheaper that way.  The tools for it are becoming less expensive, and the user acceptance better as the understanding grows and the technology becomes more transparent.  But 'whackamole' is a good description of the budget process anytime!
