Hi Alok,
Besides the previously mentioned books would also recommend 'Flowers of the Himalayas' by Rupin Dang.
Haven't met the gentleman, but his father Hari Dang was a member of the Indian Everest Expeditions along with my dad in 1962 & 1965.
                         With regards,
                           Neil Soares.

Thank you friends...
I am preparing a shopping list for Delhi and hope to try and track
these valuable additions to my library.. if I can, but it is
heartening to know that there are books available for help... perhaps
things are not as bleak as they seemed about lack of Indian data...
though I am sure the work being put in by 'flowers of India' and
'Indiantreepix' will help a lot on open sources of knowledge on the
Indian front.
sincere regards
Alok

Dear Mr. Alok,
I assume you may not get more books of botany in Delhi.
Come to dehradun, you will get more options!
Ask me why?
BISEN SINGH MAHENDRA PAL SINGH and NATRAJ publishers, who publish
these books are here. Though I am not sure about the other book you
inquired about, but it was there with PCCF of Uttarakhand. His
personal copy. I can check if I am wrong, and if I am right then I can
get it xeroxed for you.
Just in case, do let me know on pankaj...@rediffmail.com or pan...@wii.gov.in
Pankaj
