Came across this small terrestrial herb (approx 10 to 15 cm in ht) near Sonavale. Requesting ID...

Date/Time: 21-07-2013 / 10:30AM

Family: Orchidaceae

Bot. name: ????

Location: En-route "Ganapati Garad (Murbad Region, Maharashtra)

Altitude: Approx. 500 to 600 ft

Habitat: Wild (on ground of moist deciduous forest)

I think it is Peristylus species, experts may validate more.

Prashantji, nice catch of a rare plant. This is Peristylus lawii. Note pedicels twisted and spur stubby. Regards,
