Family: Oleaceae
Date: 1st February 2015
Place: Agumbe, Karnataka
Habit: Climber

I found this Jasminum sp. at about .5 km into the trekking trail. The trail begins at a small village so I am not sure if it was an escape or otherwise.

Thanks, Navendu ji.
There are two plants:
Jasminum pubescens Buch.-Ham. ex Wall. is a synonym of Jasminum sambac (L.) Aiton
Jasminum pubescens (Retz.) Willd. is a synonym of Jasminum multiflorum (Burm.f.) Andrews

This is which one of the above?

To me it seems to be Jasminum auriculatum.

This is none of the two species which are synonymous with the epithet 'pubescens'. I do not know if there is a third one  I do not have flora of Karfnataka. Maybe Navendu Ji can tell us more.

To me it is a member of Jusminum coarctatum Roxb.-Jasminum rottlerianum Wall. complex. SInce TPL grouped all under J. coarctatum Roxb. and several herbarium can be viewed in KEW, please check probability.

Thank you
Regards
surajit

Garg Sir,

I would like to correct myself, there is a third J. pubscens, as per FBI. iii. 593 J. rottlerianum is synonymous with J. pubescens Miq., in herfb. Hohenack, not of Willd.

Thank you
Regards
surajit
