Sir,

Is this Ruellia tuberosa L. ?

Species : UNKNOWN
Habit & Habitat : wild herb of 1 to 2 ft height, roadside
Date : 17/03/12, 22/03/12, 24/03/12
Place : Hooghly (WB)

yes, definately Ruellia tuberosa.

Very nice esp the side-view showing the calyx lobes and corolla.
I can see the characters :
Purplish nodes.
Leaves ovate obovate.
Capsules 2.5cm X 0.4 cmoblong more or less cyllindrical for most of the length, glabrous or scabrous minutely beaked at apex.

Nothing escapes your eyes, "Purplish nodes", amazing.... and i discover it just now, after reading your notes!
