Please help in validating the name errakuta of Argyreia imbricata ... listed at ENVIS - FRLHT as ఎర్రకూత

literal meaning:

ఎర్ర erra = red; కూత kuta = conchshell

Dinesh ji you are correct, but kuta have many meanings, kuta is calling by making sound without words

barleria-prionitis it is called as Mulla gorinta not gorinta ,

Here are some antrinta pulu, arithilai poruthi it is Tamil name, ENVIS recorded wromgly, because in border  areas with Tamilnadu people mix  Tamil also, hence misappropriation,

 అంత్రింత పూలు, 

Blepharis integrifolia var. integrifolia: బంక తుత్తుర,nela parikalu నేలపరికలు 

 

Rhynchostylis retusa chintaranam చింతరణం ; 

Dendrolobium triangulare (Retz.) Schindlచిట్టెంత 

Kandelia candel (L.) Druce కందిగల , thuvarkandan తువరకందం 

Carallia brachiata (Lour.) Merr.గిజరు చెట్టు ,కారళ్ళి , కారవల్లి since the fruit is red and looks like ripe pepper it is called kara means hot, valli means chettu, its abbreviated local name karalli.

Homalium ceylanicumమంత్రాలముక్కి , 

Salacia chinensis L- nerani నేరాణి 

Melastoma malabathricum L. ssp. malabathricum L. nakka nalupu, neeti dhaanimma, pathudu chettuనక్కనలుపు, నీటి దానిమ్మ, పాతుడుచెట్టు 

Vurudaఉరడ/ ఉరుడు

here are some more additions/ corrections the local names are collected from the local tribes /people or local ayurvedic physicians in our field visits. I will go through all the names and make some notes for your use. Acanthus ilicifolius is known as అలస్య కంప Alisiఅలిసి

Nymphaea nouchali known as Alli taamara, neeli kaluva అల్లితామర,నీలి కలువ(Tel.).

Pouzolzia zeylanica (L.) BennUchagaddaఉచ్చగడ్డ (Tel.)

Pupalia lappacea ( L.) A.Juss. is also known as Antreetha, adavi vuttareniఅడవి ఉత్తరేణి;అంత్రీత (Tel.).

Ceropegia hirsuta Wight & Arn.ఎర్రగడ్డ ? erragadda, 

in Nellore, prakasham districts of A.P onions are called as erra gadda, where as in other districts onion is known as vulli ఉల్లి /  ఉల్లిపాయలు / ఉల్లి గడ్డలు
