Dear friends, and Viplav ji,

Please help validate the Gujarati names tarati and purti for Limnophila indica.
Here are two references:

Ashok Korat ji in Facebook group, helped me with a cropped picture of some publication of Gujarat Forest Department  (attached) ... which shows તરેટી and પૂર્તી
These words do not show up any results in Google search.

The name in Marathi is तुरटी turati which is also a name for alum ... though I am not sure how the name connects to Limnophila, unless the colony of Limnophila plants keeps the waters clean where they reside !!

Regards.
Dinesh

As far as i know and my knowledge of Gujarati permits, the Forestry Deptt's nomenclature is correct.
તરેટી and પૂર્તી  may not figure in Google Search as equivalents of  Limnophila indica. but they are correct.

Dear Sir,
My pleasure. I plan to data mine Molesworth and get classical Marathi equivalents of botanical flora of Maharashtra and prepare an inventory of the same. However this will take time.

Best regards,
