If this is a Leptochloa species, with its flexuose racemes it should be L. chinensis (L.) Nees.

I found this grass today in a dry canal. I do not have any detail because it was not possible to go near it.

I have another similar looking, pending since last year - https://groups.google.com/forum/?hl=en&fromgroups=#!topic/indiantreepix/8V2JOYLDAkU

Yes. Leptochloa sp. Number of florets per spikelet need to be seen for species identification. For that, photo of fresh specimen would be required.

Thank you very much Sir. I understand that close-up photo is needed to determine it to the species level. Next time i will record the same if i can get close to similar looking grasses.

surajit
