I would like to search my comments just like I search observations. Currently, there doesn't seem to be a way to search comments.

Well, if you're realy jonesing for this I added a lame version at
http://www.inaturalist.org/comments?for_me=true. It's probably pretty
slow, though.

I didn't explain very well.

There is a link in my profile page for observations on which I've made IDs.

However, when I click this link I get many pages of observations. I'd like to be able to search these observations for particular ones such as a particular species.

For example, on my project page, I can click Observations and get a list of all my observations. There is then a search window to search through just my own observations. I'd like the same search on the other page,  my identifications. Without it, I have to page through many pages to find a previous observation that I commented on or ID'd. This comes up if I decide that maybe I was wrong, or I just want to read the information in the comments.

This could also be accomplished on the main observation search if I could specify who has ID'd or commented.

On a related note I was just thinking it would be neat to be able to search for or pull up a map of a species and see which observations I have verified, which I have disagreed with, and which I haven't looked at yet.  Though that is complicated by the fact that I look at some and post nothing because I don't know if the ID is right or not.

As a visual person, I'd live a map as you describe Charlie.

Cool. It works.

How does one list past comments on this Google board? I looked for something that would indicate how to do it, but possibly my eyes did not pick it up. Thanks.

Do you mean search for past messages in the Google Group? Go to
http://groups.google.com/group/inaturalist and use the search box at
the top.

Is the link for searching comments still a secret? I don't see any button to access that functionality. I had a person over in the BugGuide forum complain that they couldn't find a comment that they had made and I shared this link with them. Would be nice if there was a button so that we wouldn't have to share the secret link.

Linda was asking for a way to search though her "identifications". I'd like this feature also--and have posted elsewhere:
https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/inaturalist/sw6w5ESnIf8

Any chance that this feature is coming?

I had a similar use-case as Linda described (see comments here:  https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/6847562/ )

If I'd been able to search my IDs, I wouldn't have waited 5 months to correct a Data Quality entry I'd made.
Even then, I was only able to correct it when another user called my username in the thread (I'd given up on locating it on my own after a few weeks).
