Hi all,

If anyone speaks multiple languages l and is interested in helping translate the iNat website or mobile apps, we've got some new partnerships that make it easier to get involved.

The details are here: http://www.inaturalist.org/pages/translate, but in short we're trying out two translation platforms: translatewiki.net for the website and crowdin.com for the mobile apps. They both work essentially the same: (1) you sign up for these services and add translations to their respective iNaturalist projects (2) we pull in new translations coming through these services every week or so.

Currently all three platforms (web, Android, and iOS) are more or less 100% in Spanish and the web & Android apps are ~80% in Basque, Catalan, & Galician. We'll update these languages as new translations come in add also launch new languages to a platform once they are 75% done.

Thanks in advance to anyone who helps out!

Scott

That's brilliant news, very excited that iNat is getting more international that way!

Thanks Sunny for all your translations! I'm trying to maintain a list of TranslateWiki contributors here https://translatewiki.net/wiki/Category:INaturalist_translators (unfortunately I can't find a place to publically track contributors on Crowdin)

Hi Lena,

That would be awesome. Let us know if you have any trouble getting started with translatewiki and/or crowdin
