Hi guys,

following this topic , I confirm after had a test on latest v512 on beta server that info provided in mailing list panel is inconsistent.

You can check my test, and see the following:
queued: 1 - sent : 1 - total: 1

In fact, Total value is always equal to Queued value. it becomes funny when using for real, for example in a 510 I see:
Queued 226 - Sent 308 - Total 226

Weird mathematics, isn't it :)

Last but not least, I experience many partially sent mailings, because of frozen agent. I need to deactivate agent, and activate it again to make it working. Seems very unstable finally, do you have any feedback on other installs where agents are used?

Could be. I suppose this could be considered a bug in logic, but due unpopularity of this functionality it's not going to be fixed soon.

ah... we stick on using an external tool, but then there another big problem: how to export mailing lists, based on each group?

We can't mail group of users internally, neither export their infos for external use... it's amazing ! All users info are trapped into inportal?

We really need another toolbar button in group grid, next to "send email" : export users!

Export will only export data you see and that would be only mailing list records.

Sorry, but we really can't fix that our mailing solution right now.

Hi Phil,

Thanks for pointing this out!

Unfortunately, this functionality is really used which why could have some issues that haven't been tracked before.

We'll be looking at this as soon as we have time or there is a related project to this functionality. In other words, it's under our radar and we'll be work on it in the order it was received.

Thanks!

Hi guys,

We need to check the mathematics of the following:

1. Decrease Queued counter when Sent counter is Increased.

2. Unsuccessful Mailing attempt shouldn't increase Sent counters (needs to be checked).

Hi Dmitry,

I'm happy that we are back on this. There's also a problem with Agent frozen, do we have any plan for a global Agent's watchdog?

Yes we have and it was already implemented in 5.2.0 (if you were reading all new posts). A timeout can be specified in each scheduled task (former name "agent") and when it's reached an scheduled task is considered dead and is called again.

Scheduled task error reporting is still an issue, since we don't know what errors may happen during scheduled task execution we can't properly log them.

Phil, just a quick reminder that we have renamed Agents to Scheduled Tasks in In-Portal 5.2.0

Alex, would you please check on the Counters?

Dmitry, I didn't had the opportunity to test 520, and thus I'm not familiar yet with upcoming naming changes :) But thanks for noticing it.

After a test on my loca 520, problem is exactly has described below: if I write to an user, email is sent, but then all counters are set to 1: queue, sent and total.

Hi,

I have checked on this in In-Portal 5.2.0-RC1 (nothing changed in 5.2.0 final in there).

See my findings attached. I guess we find the same things as described by Phil in the first place.

The system should decrease Queued counter when email is sent. Note that these mails are sent via SMTP connections.

Alex, what do you think on this?

Ready for testing.

Additionally fixed:
  1. toolbar buttons "cancel" and "view item" were not visible in the list
  2. used toolbar button icon "view_item" was missing and was replaced by "edit" icon
