Applications are invited for a three-year post doctoral research associate position in Statistics at the University of Kent. The position is supported by the BBSRC research grant entitled "Modelling prion dynamics in the living (yeast) cell". Supervised by Professors Byron Morgan and Martin Ridout, the work will involve innovative stochastic modelling and model-fitting. A matching research associate will generate experimental data in the Biosciences Laboratory at the University, supervised by Professor Mick Tuite and Dr. Tobias von der Haar. Project Planning (Code – 03): Experience in Basic Detailed Design engineering work planning and scheduling working on corrective action reports. Man-hour estimation, preparation and monitoring document schedules and procurement activities. Knowledge in latest planning tools as primavera.

Resident Construction Managers (RCM / Site In-charge) : (Code – 04) : Experience in planning, monitoring Controlling of all site activities including manpower planning, resource planning, material planning, and finalization of responsibility matrix of site engineers, Analyzing the major scope of work at site (as per the Contract) and discussing with various disciplines for criticalities strategies for timely completion of site work, Implementing a periodic MIS reporting of site progress, Responsible for Project Cost control and analysis for site activities, Co-ordination with Clients, Consultants and Contractors Site administration and Establishment for site activities.



Construction / Execution Engineers: (Code - 05): Experience involving execution / monitoring / billing / Quantity Surveying / Co-ordination with Clients, Consultants, and Contractors in construction work of large scale EPC projects. End-to-end knowledge on testing and safety standards required.



Project Planning: (Code – 06): Experience in planning/scheduling large EPC projects. Knowledge of Project management tools like PRIMAVERA, MS-Project is essential. 



Mechanical QA / QC (Code – 07): Experience. Should be conversant with Site QC activities and preparation of QAP in fabrication and erection of tankages, steel structures and piping. Knowledge in National International Standards, Welding Techniques (WPS/PQR) and formal qualification in NDT is a must.



Civil QA / QC (Code – 08): Experience involving QA/QC activities in civil works. Knowledge in IS/ASTM codes and its application and testing of construction materials is preferred.



Quantity Surveyors (Code - 09): Experience in quantity estimation, studying and analyzing tender documents, preparing BOQs, reconciliation of quantities on periodical basis, site investigation, rate analysis with the objective to estimate properly certify correctness of bills, making relevant notes and generating reports/documentation for submission to clients.





Safety (Code – 10): Experience with all the safety related rules, policies, directives, procedures and statutory provisions, Handle safety related induction training for the new personnel, Regular site visits for checking standards of general safety and reports it to the authorities, suggest ways to fix unsafe structures or recommend changes in the layout, Periodic inspection and regular maintenance of machinery and of fire fighting equipments, power tools, construction vehicles etc., First Aid Equipment checking, and maintenance of ambulance provision on site.



Site Stores / Commercial / Accounts (Code – 11): Experience in Finance Accounts/Stores Purchase. Should be computer savvy, Exposure in handling inventory/accounting of project site materials like pipes, cables, equipments, electrical items, instruments and chemicals will be preferred.

Scope of Work

The Budget & Cost Analyst (AMM/P2) reports to the Maintenance Planning Section Head (AMM/P). The section includes Cost estimates, Budget & Cost Analysis, Contracts and Maintenance Planning subsections. The incumbent provides budget coordinating, cost control and follow-up services to the Maintenance Department through the use of monitoring, performance evaluation and Management control techniques, applied to the prime responsibility centers. 

Our Client is one of the largest and most complex international Gas Processing & Distribution Companies. It is a key element of UAE’s hydrocarbon chain and plays an important role in the energy strategy and the economic development of Abu Dhabi and the country at large. It continuously undergoes major expansions which increase its capacity to process increasingly sour associated and natural gas, and link GASCO to the offshore feed gas providers. 

The Asab Division encompasses two separate plants (ASAB-0 & ASAB-I). The ASAB-II project is currently under construction and will add gas treatment and NGL extraction units to the existing condensate recovery facilities. The ASAB-0 plant processes the associated gas that is received from the neighboring ADCO crude oil plant. The plant NGL production is pumped to Ruwais fractionation plant through pipeline and the residue gas is compressed into the ADNOC gas pipeline network through a lean gas compression station. The ASAB-I plant has two parallel processing trains, it is designed to recover condensate, consisting primarily of pentane and heavier components. The condensate is transferred to TAKREER Ruwais oil refinery, whereas the residual gas is re-injected into the reservoir. 

The main challenges for the jobholder are to properly monitor expenditures within approved budget, ensure proper and timely preparation of budget & 5 years business plan and timely preparation of accruals and processing Vendor Invoice Vouchers.

MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES:
To manage, coordinate and compile the 5-year business plan and periodic update of all Capital Items, Major and Extraordinary Maintenance Items, in association with the maintenance sections.

To coordinate the preparation of the Maintenance department Capital and Operating budgets and monitor annual expenditure budgets.

To coordinate availability of relevant cost information from various maintenance sections and management.

To develop KPIs and produce cost trends and analysis reports for management.

To coordinate with Finance department, various financial budget requests, approvals, accruals and variance information.

To compile performance reports of Operating, Extra Ordinary, Major Maintenance and Capital Budgets for effective management control.

To review Stock Material Consumption, Direct Material and Low Value Material purchase, and prepare trends and analysis for abnormality control purposes.

To coordinate write-offs of redundant/old assets and transfer of new assets to GFAR (Gasco Fixed Assets Register).

To compile month and year end accruals and allocate cost codes on VIVs (Vendor Invoice Vouchers).

To ensure implementation of competency based Training & Development programs, through use of Personal Development Plans (PDP’s) and UAE Nationalization directives.

MAIN CHALLENGES:
Considering the users limited awareness of the available functions of the CMMS system, to optimize the Maximo application for enhanced cost control purposes.

Minimum Requirements

Minimum of 10 years experience in Budget Preparation, Follow-up and Expenditure Variances Analysis, with good command of essential software’s and Maximo.

To be recruited under specialist contract conditions with rotation cycle of 3 Month “ON” and 1 Month “OFF”.

Salary Remuneration

Salary is Negotiable plus food and messing accommodation will be provided while on duty with rotation cycle of 3 months ON and 1 month OFF.

Possible job as Electrical Engineer in new MEP department in COWI India

COWI is in the process of setting up a MEP department in Delhi in India and for that reason are looking for relevant Engineers. The new MEP department in COWI India is planned to undertake and carry out design of Building projects such as house buildings, commercial buildings, hotels, schools, sports complex etc.) from Denmark.

 

The MEP department in COWI India is planned to undertake and carry out design of Building projects such as house buildings, commercial buildings, hotels, schools, sports complex etc.) from Denmark.

 

The department will in the beginning consist of a small design group of Mechanical engineers, Electrical Engineers and CAD operators. For that reason the person we are looking for shall have a general wide experience and technical knowledge within the design of building services. Furthermore the person we are seeking shall be able to work independently and be able to lead a minor team of engineers and CAD operators, as our strategy is to expand the MEP department within the measurable future. As the projects will come from Denmark it is a requirement that our person have good English skills, both in speaking, reading and in writing.

    Conditions of Eligibility

    (A) Age Limits, Sex and Marital Status:
    1. For Indian Millitary Academy : Unmarried male candidates born not earlier than 2nd July, 1987 and not later than 1st July 1992 only are eligible.
    2. For Naval Academy : Unmarried male candidates born not earlier than 2nd July, 1989 (2nd July, 1987 in case of NCC Naval wing 'C' certificate holders) and not later than 1st July 1992 only are eligible.
    3. For Air Force Academy : Unmarried male candidates born not earlier than 2nd July, 1988 and not later than 1st July 1992 only are eligible.
    4. For Officers' Training Academy - (SSC Course for Men) : Male candidates (Unmarried or Married) born not earlier than 2nd July, 1986and not later than 1st July 1992 only are eligible.
    5. For Officers Training Academy - SSC (Women Non- Technical) Course :
      (a) Unmarried Women, issueless widows who have not remarried, and issueless divercees (in possession of diveorce documents) who have not remarried are eligible. They should have been not earlier than 2nd July, 1986 and not later than 1st July, 1992.

    (B) Educational Qualifications:
    1. For Indian Millitary Academy and Officers' Training Academy : Degree of a recognised university or equivalent.
    2. For Naval Academy : B.Sc. (with Physics & Mathematics ) or Bachelor of Engineering.
    3. For Air Force Academy: Degree of a recognised university (with Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level) or Bachelor of Engineering.
    (C) Physical Standards: candidates must be physically fit according to the physical standards for admission to Combined Defence Services Examination (CDS) (II), 2009 as prescribed in the detailed advertisement.

    Application form: The candidates must apply in the Common Application Form devised by the commission for its examination, which can be purchased from the designated Head Post Offices/Post Ooffices throughout the country against cash payment of Rs. 20/-.

    Fee : Rs. 100/- through Central Recruitment Fee Stamp only. SC/ST/Women candidates are exempted from payment of fees. OBC candidates are required to pay full fees.

    Applications are invited from unmarried Male Indian Citizens for Short Service Commission (SSC) Officer in Technical Branches (Engineering and Electrical) [Mechanical for Submarine cadre) of the Indian Navy for Course commencing January 2011 at NAVAC Ezhimala, Kerala in the pay scale PB-3 Rs.15600-39100 Grade Pay Rs.5400 and Military Service Pay Rs.6000 and other allowances :

    Eligibility Conditions:
    • Age : Between 19 & 1/2 to 25 years (candidates to be born between 02 January 1985 to 01 July 1990; both dates inclusive)
    • Educational Qualifications : B.E/ B.Tech. (or equivalent) from a institution recognised by AICTE with minimum 60% marks in aggregate in Mechanical, Production, Marine, Control or Aeronautical for General Service and Electrical, Electronics, Avionics, Instrumentation & Control or Telecommunication for Submarine cadre . 

    Physical Standards : Hight and Wieght : Minimum height Male - 157 cms with correlated weight.

    Eye Sight : The minimum acceptable vision standard for distant vision, 6/24, 6/24 correctable to 6/6, 6/6 with glasses. Should not be colour/night blind.

    SSC : Short Service Commission is granted for a term of 10 years, extendable to 14 years, subject to service requirements and performance/willingness of the candidate.
