Hi,
when I add new places and add "use for", this create two record one whit correct "use for" and one blank with "Utitled" why?

This is an explampe of my problem.

Can you give us a bit more information? Namely:
  • What version of AtoM do you have installed?
  • What was the default installation culture you used during set up?
  • What language are you using in the user interface?
  • Did you follow our recommended installation instructions, or have you made any changes?

Hi Dan, 

  • Version: AtoM 2.3.0
  • Default culture during installation English
  • User interface language italiano
  • I have follow your recommended installation instructions, nothing change
However, the problem occurs with both the Italian and English

Thanks for the additional information.

Strangely, I have tried to reproduce this issue in my local 2.4 development environment, and in 2.3.0 via our current demo site. I was unable to reproduce the issue.

I would suggest trying to re-index your site to see if this helps. You might also want to restart PHP-FPM and clear the application cache - from the root directory of your installation, try the following commands:
  • php symfony search:populate
  • sudo service php5-fpm restart
  • php symfony cc

Let us know if that helps!

I have reproduce this issue on demo.accesstomemory.org. 

If you go on places page you should be see the Ernestown with the Untitled. 

If you don't see this, I do the screenshots of step by step to reproduce the issue.

I could see the issue on the browse results, but not on the view record page. I wasn't looking there earlier - I'll try to reproduce it in 2.4 now that I have a better sense of what's happening. Thanks!

Thank you again for the updated instructions - I have reproduced the issue in both 2.3 and 2.4. I have filed the following bug ticket so we can track progress on this:

It appears, in fact, to have nothing to do with the translation elements of AtoM. I reproduced it using English for both installation culture and interface display culture. I think what is happening is that AtoM adds a new edit row to the Use For field (so users can add multiple UF terms), but this is somehow accidentally being saved as a blank row when the form is submitted? Not sure.

Note that we will add this to the list of bugs to investigate for the 2.4 release, but this does not guarantee it will be resolved - due to our development philosophy and business model, the only way to guarantee a fix is to receive a community pull request or have a community organization sponsor a fix. We'll do our best!

I have investigated to discover the problem and I have find that the problem is on view file, to be precise:

apps/qubit/modules/taxonomy/templates/indexSuccess.php

On row 78, the original file have:

<p><?php echo 'Use for: '.get_search_i18n(array_pop($doc['useFor']), 'name', array('allowEmpty' => false)) ?><?php foreach ($doc['useFor'] as $label): ?><?php echo ', '.get_search_i18n($label, 'name', true, false) ?><?php endforeach; ?></p>

But the array_pop doesn't work as aspected (I don't know why), however I resolve the issue changing in this way:

<p><?php echo 'Use for: ' ?><?php foreach ($doc['useFor'] as $key => $label): ?><?php echo ($key>0?', ':'').get_search_i18n($label, 'name', true, false) ?><?php endforeach; ?></p>

This solution work as expected, sorry for my bad english.
