Please note the following -

What is normally acceptable:

Introducing your product or service. The only exception to this is when the product or service isn't ethical or legal. However repeatedly talking on the same product / service is deemed unacceptable by many and spammy by others.
Asking for help about any problems you are facing. There are other entrepreneurs here willing to help you and give you advice so you don't fall in the same traps that they did. We are here to help each other.
Asking for feedback about your product or service.
Asking about sharing resources, people, services to reduce cost or compliment each others skills.
Job posts - only from startups and with all relevant information (about the company, location, role offered, etc).

What is normally not acceptable:

Blatant promotion of your product / service, specially ones without any context. Mailing list is not a free billboard! When someone asks for help, it is ok to mention that you provide the service.
Abusive language.
Ad-hominem attacks. Don't attack a person, attack a concept or idea instead.
Selling semi-illegal, illegal, unethical product / services. It includes get-rich-quick schemes, chain emails, spamming software etc.
Cross posting to multiple groups.
Discussion about political/religious issues.

Posts to the forum are moderated for new members to avoid spam emails. Please adhere to the following guidelines while posting new messages to the group or risk deletion of the posts. We don't like to censor but please remember that your post will be seen by close to 1200 members and spamming, etc will hurt your social capital. Repeated violation may result in you being banned from the group.
   What's ok -
   1. Posting jobs openings at your own startup is fine NOT recruiter jobs - Please prefix "[Jobs]" (without the quotes) in your message if you want to advertize any open positions in your startup.
   2. Getting your product/startup/idea reviewed - prefix "[Review]" to your message.
   3. Requesting a meetup. Prefix "[Meetup]" If you want to get together with like minded folks and discuss your issues/ideas or generally have a social gathering.
   4. Announcing events - prefix "[Event]" to your message if you are passing information about an upcoming event. E.g - seedcamps, TIE events, startup accelerator programs, etc. Event has to be related to startups or should help startups in some way.
   5. Requesting technical or domain help, introductions.

   What's not ok -
   1. Peddling your wares. Do NOT advertise your services. This is NOT a marketing list.
   2. Arguments - Discussions are ok, arguments and fights are not.
   3. Unrelated discussions - please keep discussions relevant to startups and entrepreneurship, do not discuss politics, religion, etc.
   4. This is NOT a list for recruiters to post their open positions.

Posts not following the above guidelines will be removed without notice.
