Hi

I need to capture traffic from a webDAV client (WebDrive) in order to
send to a developer for debugging.

I have Fiddler installed and traffic shows up for normal web
browsing. But when I do webDAV operations with webDrive there is no
traffic.

Can anyone help?

thanks
Gus

What is "webdrive" and where can it be downloaded?

Some clients require manual proxy configuration to see traffic.

Hi and thanks for the reply.

Webdrive can be downloaded here:

http://webdrive.com/download/index.html

"WebDrive is more than just an FTP Client.
Unlike a typical FTP client, WebDrive allows you to open and edit
server-based files without the additional step of downloading the
file. Using a simple wizard, you assign a network drive letter to the
FTP Server. By connecting through a virtual drive, there is no need to
learn a separate FTP client interface. You access and edit files on
the server the same way that you interact with files on your local PC.

WebDrive is the only FTP Client that supports additional protocols
such as WebDAV, SFTP and Amazon S3 and maps a drive letter to each of
these servers. Please select the type of computer below to get more
information and a free trial of the WebDrive FTP Client."

I am using it to replace windows explorer as the default tool to
access documents provided through a document system on the web.
Basically it allows us to map a drive to the docuument system over the
internet. So we have a DMS online that allows us to add meta data to
documents and folders and handle permissions based on registered
users.
But these users can also access the files as if they were on a local
disk. Some things are working differently between windows explorer
and WebDrive, hence needing to see what is going on.

I'll read the help.

thanks

In the WebDrive client, the Program Proxy-HTTP Settings dialog is used
to define the type of proxy server logon that is required for HTTP
sites. To access this tab, select File > Program Settings. On the
Program Settings menu tree, click Proxy HTTP.

Proxy Type: set to HTTP Standard (CERN). The address should be
127.0.0.1 and the port should be 8888. The username and password boxes
should be left blank.

tried that and got the following. I am using Norton Internet Security.
I added WebDrive to the exclusions and set the permissions to Allow.
But am still denied:

I am using Win7.

Connecting to site Enhesa Files
Connecting to http://dms.enhesa.com/dmxdav.axd
Connecting to 127.0.0.1 on port 8888
Connecting to 127.0.0.1 on port 8888

Unable to connect to server, error information below

Error: Socket connect failed to the server. (4504)
Operation: Connecting to server
Winsock Error: WSAECONNREFUSED (10061)

Suggestion

A firewall may be blocking the connection. Check your XP firewall to
make sure the port is not blocked.

Gus--
The first thing to try: In Fiddler, click Tools > Fiddler Options >
Connections and tick the box labeled "Allow remote computers to
connect" and restart Fiddler. Did that help?

thanks,
Eric
