Is there a way I can create a group or a role that allows an editor to only edit the menus in a channel, without any right to change Channel Settings and/or Components?

Hey Nils,

this is unfortunately pretty much impossible. In the upcoming 10.0 it
might be a bit easier because there we support at least simple
hierarchical ACL constraints making it easier to configure it at least
on jcr authorization level. However the UI also would require more
improvements. I hope we can pick up these functional roles related
channel mngr authorization soon after the 10.0

Regards Ard
