Repository Configuration Problem

Hello HippoCommunity

I am new to Hippo and i am trying to create my webpage, which main role will be to directly take data from an external database.

I have followed all the steps at the getting started tutorial https://www.onehippo.org/trails/getting-started/hippo-essentials-getting-started.html

I have also downloaded and installed Tomcat, Maven and i am working with Eclipse.

I have build the project already and i can access my page at the http://localhost:8080/cms

Now i am trying to connect my hippo cms webpage with an external database, in this case mysql

I followed the steps at your tutorials for mysql configuration

https://www.onehippo.org/library/development/use-mysql-in-a-development-environment.html and https://www.onehippo.org/library/deployment/configuring/configuring-hippo-for-mysql.html

The problem i am facing is that i can not configure repository, which means i can't create the repository file inside myhippoproject.

I don't understand how to configure it with this -Drepo.config=file:///path/to/repository.xml

Can anybody help me?

just pass it as a parameter to your tomcat instance. In addition see examples at:

..look for:

REP_OPTS="-Drepo.bootstrap=false -Drepo.config=file:${CATALINA_BASE}/conf/repository.xml"

followed all the steps, and when i build the project , i get this url : http://localhost:8080/cms/wicket/bookmarkable/org.hippoecm.frontend.NoRepositoryAvailablePage

your repository didn't start properly, check the log files, it will tell you more on what is going/went wrong,

you haven't configured jdbc/repositoryDS it is described here:

https://www.onehippo.org/library/deployment/configuring/configuring-hippo-for-mysql.html

assuming, you are using MySql

I already did the configurations and now it shows me this log..
