Remove unicode control symbols on Hippo Document creation

Hi all,

I've noticed that non-printed unicode control symbols are saved in the document, e.g. document title may be 'Test 0x03 test'. Is it possible to remove such symbols on document creation?

Hi Anton,

I can confirm that this indeed happens and the unicode control characters do not get removed by the CMS itself. I'm not sure if the CMS should take care of this? I understand that turning this into XML with for instance CXF and JAXB would indeed result in errors. 

I'm curious what others think about this issue and if it's something the CMS or repository should handle for us?

I also experienced this problem when trying to copy and paste from html
content in existing webs pages into rich text field.
This issue was reported in community already as well. See "Errors trying
to put content into rich text field" thread.
I sometimes notice some html pages contain Ctrl-C character, but I can't
figure out what caused that character entered initially. Maybe someone
mistyped Ctrl-V and Ctrl-C in VIM?
Anyway, I had to find and remove that kind of characters before
copy&pasting into rich text editor, which is really inconvenient.
It's not a problem of CMS, but if it is possible to have toolbar buttons
like 'Paste', 'Paste as HTML' (after cleaning up control characters),
'Paste as Text' (text only without html tags), etc. in the rich text
editor, I would really appreciate.
