Wrapping up 8.0

Hello everyone!

It looks (to me) that our big changes landed earlier had enough time to
be tested, we even found and fixed some bugs. So I'm of a mind to wrap
the new version some time next week.

I, personally, want to wait only for the pull request with Elixir
support[1] as it is a trendy language and having it will be a good PR
for us :-).

If anyone knows a reason to hold the release or can think of another
backwards incompatible change to include into it � speak up!

Status update.

We didn't release 8.0 as I remembered an old idea about having a way to
restrict language detection to a subset of languages regardless of how
many of those were initially registered with the library. This will most
probably touch API in a significant way, so it makes sense to do it in
8.0 with all the other big changes. This is issue [323].

This is now the only thing holding us from the release. I decide not to
hold it for the Elixir support as we can add it at any time.

Status update #2.

The aforementioned issue [323] is implemented and is awaiting review. So
the good news is that there are no more outstanding issues blocking the
release!

An even better news is that this time we're going to release a beta
version to test it in the wild, as we've got quite a few bold changes in
this cycle. This should happen before the next Thursday Dec, 19 (the
dead-line warranted by me traveling on this date and possibly being
unavailable for a few days.)
