Having worked with flash and flash for quite some time I’m glad that I found HAXE.  After some initial promising tests I wanted to use HAXE for a real project. So I decided to update my company website.  Using Haxe in combination with robothaxe I was able use my existing skills to create a scalable webapp without having to write a single line of JS J.

Here are some features that I could implement easily implement using HAXE:

-         - Use of CSS3 and HTML 5

-         - Support for desktop and iPAD

-         - Retina display support

-         - Support for swiping gestures

-        - Browser History support

If you like you can have a look at my website: http://www.burrer.de/

The graphics are not finalized yet – but I wanted to put it online anyway....

It runs of the latest versions of Firefox, Safari, Chrome  and even IE (without the transitions)

The best experience is on the iPAD though.  For now the app/website supports desktop and iPad. A phone optimized version is in development. (basically I just have to adjust some of my view classes for that).

I’m looking forward to my next HAXE project.

I would like to thank the mailing list for all the support- you guys rock!

Nice work mate looks great! You should write some blog posts or something on how you used robothaxe with Haxe and HTML :)

Looks good maybe worth changing the button rollover.

style.cursor = 'pointer';

Cheers

Haxe isn't an acronym, so the official capitalisation is simply 'Haxe'.

of course, Safari does a bad job rendering it. i don't know why Safari
so absurdly and aggressively does everything wrong. looks fine in
Chrome. aren't they both webkit? somebody remind me why Apple is so
hallowed again?

Cool single-page web solution!
You have no linkability to different pages, do you? (Bad for SEO, I guess.)

That won't be a worry, most popular search engines even index parameters and the 'hash' of the webpage, that wikis use extensively.

Very nice website, I'm impressed with the smoothness of the animation.  Looked at it on Firefox (Ubuntu) and Mobile Safari (iPad) and it was really nice.  I would definitely be interested in a blog about how you wrote it.

On the browser history note / SEO note there are some haxelibs that might help (if you care enough to bother!):

Thanks for your feedback everybody!

Yes I will definitely write some blog posts and send you the links here once  they are ready.

Yep it took me a while to get the carousel right. I entirely used CSS transition in order to get hardware acceleration on mobile safari.

I might do some research here. Those could come handy for other projects.

Not sure why it is not working for yon in Safari. I actually get the best preformance in Safari. In safari 5 I had a problem with the full screen view of HTML 5 videos but that got fixed in mountain lion.

Quick comment (just skimmed): please use the <code> tag to format your code, and style it appropriately in your theme. It helps a lot with readability.
