IMPORTANT - Call to the Haxe community - before November 5th

Hi all

This mail is not about technical issues or ideas, but about a really good communication opportunity we have for Haxe.

Vision Mobile is a company which doing some of the best reports about cross-platform technologies and mobile industry (at least from what I know).

Cross-Platform Developer Tools 2012 where they speak briefly about Haxe:

The main problem is that they do not speak enough about Haxe.

I think we can make this change.

I contacted them, and they told me that if there are enough participants saying they are using Haxe in their next survey, they could consider adding it officially in their next report, so that our beloved language has even more visibility.

So please fill the survey before November 5th, and in the question: "Which of the following Cross-Platform Tools are you currently using ?", answer "Other" and type "Haxe" in the text input.

Then a few more questions will be asked about it.

From what Vision Mobile told me the number of questions is limited to 30 questions over 50-60.

So the selection of questions might be either based on your answers, either chosen randomly

Like Andreas I didn't have the Cross-plateform related question, but there's a comment box at the end of the survey where you can ask yourself the question, I think they will take it into account.

I'm the lead analyst for the VisionMobile survey. This thread recently came to my attention. I'm not sure yet if we have enough respondents to include Haxe in this report. But in any case, it would be useful to have a chat with you in order to better understand where Haxe stands in relation to other CPTs and get a qualitative view on the reasons you use it and its strengths, particularly for mobile development. We could include some insights from this conversation in the report. Please let me know if this is of interest and we can arrange a call.

Hi all

The Developer Economics 2013 report is out.

The bad news is that in the Cross Platform Tools part, they do not speak about Haxe.

Anyway, I wish to thank you all as the involvment of our community in the survey was really strong: more than 100 persons filled it and told Haxe was their primary cross-platform tool.

But as a total of 3500 people filled the survey, it makes "only" around 3% of Haxers which was not enough to be included in the report.

We'll do better next time !
