Hi all,
I am going to release my second game using Haxe and NME (and other haxe
libs) and wanted to share the news with you :)
So I've put together a web site here: www.strangemasks.com.
Thanks to the fantastic tools we have, the game will of course be
cross-platform (linux, win, macosx)

Now, I am going to push it on steam greenlight. I don't know if there
are others Haxe projects featured on greenlight, but I wish the game
will be chosen :) And if everything's going well and the game is
accepted I will try to see how I can make a open-source ndll / haxelib
to link NME games to the steam API. And so we will have a great tool to
continue to promote Haxe + NME.

The game will also be released on mobile platforms.
If you take a look at the video, you'll see that I've made a huge Haxe +
NME logo which is displayed at the game startup. I 've also tried to
promote Haxe and the Haxelibs directly on the game's web page.
I hope these little effort will help the community !

Anyway, I will tell you when the game is out. But I can already make a
big thank to the all the fantastic developers who made the fantastic
tools I use daily ! and I hope that with Nicolas's Haxe Foundation we
will be able to further push Haxe mainstream !

Thanks again !

Hi, François

What do you use for particle effects?

http://code.google.com/p/haxe-particle-designer/
from Matthew Mourlam

I put a list on the official web site citing all the libraries I have been using for the development : http://www.strangemasks.com/#thinkslow if you are interested: )

I did not use flinthx although it seems cool, does it use NME tiles for rendering ?

By the way I just added an nme extension I use in Strange Masks : getting the OS locale.
It works on Linux and windows, but I'll soon add mac support :)

It took me a while to understand (yet I'm not sure) the gameplay from watching the video - a bit confusing :)

Good question I did not use it :)
I did not know it was available. I will definitely check it tomorrow and tell you :) Is it available on 3.3 ?

Thank you for your answer.
I'm playing a bit with filnthx and I'm planning to add tiles support to it.

nope, was not available on 3.3.
I haven't tried latest nme since 3.3 worked for me on windows and linux but I will try to make the macos version with it so I think I will use Capabilities.language :)
Thanks for the tip.

Demo ready there : www.strangemasks.com :) It features the 15 first levels.
3 languages are also available : English, German and French ( the french web site will also launch next week )

So I take the opportunity to announce that Strange Masks is officially out on windows and linux :) (mac soon, mobiles in january)
This is my second Haxe + NME game.
I've added an about page here : http://www.strangemasks.com/more.html were I give a list of all the tools / libraries (credited) I used.
I will now prepare a few post mortems article on my blog (blog.thinkslow.net) to discuss / share about the development and how I used Haxe and NME.

Thanks for all the people in the Haxe community that made this project possible.
Once more I am proud to be part of our little growing party ;)

Have fun :)
And if you have time and like to share about anything regarding the game / tech / etc.., don't hesitate to send me a mail.
