Are you trying to get some apps to work w/ Growl?

Hello,

I've just bought Growl in the app store and I have spent the whole morning trying to make it work, enable logging, etc...

For working with it I have:
- Dropbox (which is not listed in growl)
- Alfred
- MenuTab pro for Facebook

It only works with Unplugged that I have installed afterwards, could it be the cause?

Does anyone has an idea?

Cheers

Apps need to register with Growl before they can post notifications to it. This usually happens when the app starts up.
Have you tried quitting and re-opening those apps?
Do they then show up in Growl's Preferences->Applications pane?
What version are those apps on? Are they all up-to-date?

Ok, so if they have got as far as Growl's apps pane, they have can at least talk to Growl.
The next thing to do is double-check there aren't any preferences in the apps you need to enable (I'm going to assume that you haven't disabled them in Growl's own preferences), eg. in Dropbox's case, make sure "Show Dropbox notifications" is ticked in Dropbox preferences.
Next, make sure you're causing an event within the apps that is known to trigger a notification. If you don't know what those are, often the titles of the notifications that have been registered in Growl's apps pane should give you a good clue.

For MenuTab for Facebook I have enabled all notifications and tested with chat notifications but it doesn't work

For Dropbox I have indeed enabled "Show dropbox notifications" but in Growl as it doesn't appear I can't enable it.

For alfred I have actives all and triggered "Drive ejected" with an external hard drive but no notifications..

Meanwhile I have installed unplugged which basically say when you have plugged your AC adaptor and every 10% of discharging and it works with it and I even have history in growl..

Maybe I should try with another plugin for facebook? Are you aware of a good one compatible with Growl?

Thank you
