You can add a configuration based on sound action, and then change the volume of the sound on a per action plugin basis. We did this so that you could have more control over the volume of your sounds, name the sound actions how you want, and overall it'd be a whole heck of a lot more powerful.

I notice that all the sound effects for each event/notification in each program are gone!  There seems to be only one sound for all notifications!  How do I map a different sound effect for each notification?  And if that feature has been removed, is there a way to somehow get that functionality back?  If not, how do I roll back to the previous version of Growl (1.4)?

It took me ages to figure this out but I got there. I'm not the OP by
the way.

Ya sorry, it's not documented well yet and the displays tab isn't where we'd like it to be. The idea behind it though should hopefully give you a lot more in the way of controlling your sounds.

Thank you!  I was able to get it to work using the new method.  (For the record, event sound effects is the main reason for getting Growl; that's one thing that I love about Microsoft Windows.)  I noticed, though, when putting in a lot of sound events, the Actions list may end up having empty spaces.  Nothing major, though; after quitting and rerunning the program, it looks fine.
I also can't resize the column (I have names that are longer than the Actions list allows).  I'm guessing that I'm in the minority on that one.

One other thing: I have noticed that when the computer is "put to sleep", after "waking up", sometimes either the sounds don't work (I'll have to quit and rerun Growl) or Growl will have terminated on its own.  (The same issue occurred in the previous version of Growl.)

Once again, thanks for your help; I can hear sound effects again!
