I've uninstalled the growl 1.2.2 from lion with the script provided.
I've installed version 1.3 from the App store and now
I don't get any notifications at all.
I try the Simplest Notifier Evar, and it's working.
What gives? What should I do.
What is the problem????

Is Growl running? If it is, you will see the 'Paw' icon in you menu
bar (top right). I've found that often times it needs to be opened
manually from the Applications folder, even if it is set to run at
logon (which for some reason has been turning itself off from time to
time).

I think most of us are in the same boat, Adam.  It appears that it has to do with a different way they had to code the framework that lets growl communicate with all the apps it should.  Many apps are still using the old framework and that is one main cause.

Besides the Simplest Notifier Evar and Trillian, I don't think anything else I have uses growl 1.3 either.

I tried to update Sparrow with the new framework as suggested by the developers in here: http://www.ninjadesk.com/featured/fixing-outdated-apps-manually-to-work-with-the-new-growl-1-3-for-os-x-lion/ to no avail.  It still doesn't pop up a growl message either.

Hopefully the various software devs will update it properly themselves and we can get back to "growl-ing" normally in Lion.
