spam maps?

There sure are a TON of spam maps on mapknitter.org

How can I help?

We've long allowed anonymous map creation to help people remain anonymous, but I think it may be causing enough trouble that we need to re-evaluate. 

If there are folks willing to implement ReCaptcha, we might be able to stop some, but even then spam maps may appear. 

Thoughts?

This is a problem that needs a solution!
Do you have time to call in today at 3pm? There's a standing open meeting time that we could use to wrangle this issue.

I am in favor of anonymous mapping, I just think maybe moderators can delete the advertisements for Soapy Dog Pet Wash and Better Call Saul Law Firm, etc.  I might have been a moderator at one time, but don't remember anything beyond that.
