Hi Cameron,

Thanks for software

Hope you're well

Please forgive me if I've missed it but there appears to be nothing clearly documented ( https://www.gqueues.com/help/ ) on how tagging in shared queues *should* work, so I'm using a combination of my own logic and existing issues[0]

My partner and I share a queue with one another, facilitating task sharing/collaboration, which pretty much allows us to get by without the drawbacks of using assignments. Part of our collaboration method relies on tags. We use "Next action" tags (i.e. "next_action-me" and "next_action-her") in each queue, facilitating visibility on tasks we're each working on *now* and the ability to triage next actions globally.

Currently, if I create a tag in my queue my partner sees this tag in the context of her queue but not in her tag navigation list (left column). Can you confirm the expected behaviour - I see some old issues that state you decided *not* to allow shared queue recipients to inherit queue owner's tags..?

NB I can appreciate the (dare I say) edge case(s) where it may not be helpful for a shared queue recipient to inherit every queue owner's tag(s), but currently *not* populating/updating the tag navigation list when a shared queue/tag is inherited feels like a bug. Surely it would be more informative to show an additional "Shared with me - tags" list; emulating the shared queue paradigm?

If anyone else reading this agrees please up-vote or reply "+1"

Please let me know if there's a more suitable place to leave issues

Hope this is clear

Look forward to your reply

Yours faithfully

Hi Lewis -

Yes, perhaps a "shared tags" area would be helpful, or a streamlined way to prompt the user and add all shared tags to their own account.

For now, to help with your current situation, your partner can manually add the tags to her account, so that they appear in her tag panel and you both have the same list of tags in the Tag Panel.

To do so, she can go to GQueues Settings -> Tags and then just type in the exact same tags that you have (case-sensitive).

Any tags she creates here will appear in her Tag Panel.

Cheers for reply, and good luck with future UX enhancements in this area (e.g. collaboration / shared queue / tagging)

Kind thanks

Hi.

I'm having the same problem. My company have a great number of clients. Each client have a tag. So I need some way to share this tags. Asking for each coworker to write each tag es too complicated. Is there other solution for this issue?

Thanks

Hi Lucas,

Our development team is working hard to implement Team Queues later this year, which will make it possible to share tags with others on your team.  In the meantime, the only workaround that I can suggest is manually sharing tags.  Though it still requires a little more work, some users will include the tag name(s) somewhere in the notes or comments of shared tasks.

Hope that helps for now!
