please let me know if there is any performance issue if I go for
'com.google.gwt.gen2. package instead of pure GWT.

IIRC, gen2 was the "incubator" for the handlers introduced in GWT 1.6 (to replace the listeners from previous versions). I don't think there's any performance issue with it, but it's no longer maintained, so IMO you should really go for GWT proper.
