Hi,

Once in a while Googlebot comes by an ajax app made with gwt which results in an Exception.
I don't understand this and have no idea where to start :(

The page contains a login form and about 8 links. I don't use any anchor links (just div's with listener like the GWT Button for example).

Any idea's why this occurs? Or where to start searching?
Below the exception details (the client send the exception to the backend).

Hi Ed,

'undefined' is mostly occured when u touch a variable that's not initialized in JavaScript code.

You should try having a look at your app like google bot -> http://support.google.com/webmasters/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=158587 .

You could use Google Webmastertools to analyze your site with Googles Tools -> https://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/home

This guide for crawling dynamic sites (AJAX) may help you, too -> http://support.google.com/webmasters/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=174992

Hope that helps.

Markus

Thanks Markus,
I understand what "undefined" means, but I have no idea where to look for the variable that's results in the error.

Sorry, I forgot to mention that I used the WebMaster tools.
I just used them again, and "fechting the sit as the google bot" results in no error, neither do I receive an exception from the application (which are emailed automatically), nor does the Web Master tool dashboard show an error :(

I get the impression that the error isn't always occurring when the bot visits the website, as the exception occurs about every 2 weeks, but in the Web Master dashboard it shows that it visits the website more often.

Strange....  ..
More idea's :) ?
