Any information on when 2.5 will be released (Beta, RC1, official)?
I'm interested in the changes to the CellTable and want to know if I
should wait for 2.5 or plan for alternatives.

Thanks

I havent read anything so far. But you can always use the trunk version (svn) of GWT if you are interested in changes that are not released yet. Its not that complicated to build GWT yourself.

You can just build it from trunk. You can take a look at Making GWT
Better on how to checkout and build the source code. It's very simple
to do.

If you want absolute peace of mind, you can always just take the
CellTable portion of trunk and use 2.4 for the rest.

I have been using trunk for a while and I haven't encountered any major issue.

Thanks for the information. Yes, I have the trunk checked out and I
was trying to see if I could use just the cell components with the
rest of 2.4. Looks like there is a ripple effect into other packages
on needed changes, so not sure yet how easy that would be.

It will be a tough cell on moving to a trunk version of GWT where I'm
currently consulting. It would be easier to make a suggestion of a
road-map existed that showed that a release would happen prior to the
release of our application.

Thanks again,
Neil

Yeah, merging branches is never simple. I would try just using the trunk and try out what you're looking into. I'm guessing Google has a good SVN discipline and keeps the TRUNK stable.

They build all their projects from trunk, so yes, trunk is relatively stable.

1. Is there any place where the roadmap can be seen?

2. If not (1), then does anyone know where I can find what the 2.5 release would include?

3. I'm particularly interested in a featured mentioned by Ray Cromwell on a Google+ post about "Super Draft Mode". Does anyone have any idea/news about it? how it will work? when is it gonna be released?

thanks in advance,
Mariano

No. And AFAIK, there's no roadmap (at least no public one; there's never been).

http://code.google.com/p/google-web-toolkit/issues/list?can=2&q=milestone=2_5%20status=FixedNotReleased is a good start (also try removing the Milestone filter, as the milestone is not always set; but unfortunately a bunch of things that shipped in 2.4 are also still marked as FixedNotReleased).

I was told it's in a very early stage <https://groups.google.com/d/msg/google-web-toolkit-contributors/FGA1YaxIr8g/frw2lLu4mKQJ> so don't expect it to be released as part of the next GWT release. There's been some changes proposed already to support this new mode though, so it's being worked on, for sure: http://gwt-code-reviews.appspot.com/1594803/

Are there plans for RC-1 to go into the maven repo?
