setting a single object in data Grid?

hi..

let's assume that upon selection of an item (an entity Proxy) in a dataGrid, said item is sent to an editor where it's being modified by a requestFactory and returns a new proxy with the update value. 

how can i set the updated proxy back to get grid to reflect the new changes?
