Double.toString() behaviour inconsistency

If I run this:

String s = Double.toString(1234.0);

...then on the hosted browser I get "1234.0", but on Firefox 3.5 I get
"1234". I haven't tried it on anything else yet.

Is this a known issue? Should I file a bug report?
