I have been looking for a line graphic with 2 filters, i need to show it as follows:
1- The amount of advertising by currency (US$, EUR, CAD$) (i want to have a filter for every currency)
2- Total gross profit or profit divided by advertising or paid version (is a license type of software) (i want to select one of those 3 options)

Please help me with this I'm really late, google doesn't have good help about this subjects!

Regards

Hello, it sounds like you want a LineChart with some Controls. It sounds like you want something with two CategoryFilters (one for the currency and another for the profit). However, I'm a bit confused about how you intend to structure your data. Is this by date? If so, then does every row have both a cost and a revenue? Or does every row represent a sold copy? If that's the case, then I'm not sure how the advertising part fits in here. Do you have any data that I can look at (real or fake) to help you further?

There are a few different ways to handle this.  First off, do you plan to load the different currency amounts into the chart, or do you want the chart to convert from one currency to another?  Do you want the change in currency for the advertising to affect the displayed values for the profit?

Hi Sergey,

This is what i have now, that filter is not working and i need another filter for the currency (i don't want to show all currencies like that).
Yes, the graph is by date so i need to show the total amount of donations by currency and if is paid version/free version or both.

Hi, I still need to know the exact format of your DataTable, since that will determine how you should proceed. asgallant actually brought up a good point that I didn't consider, which is did you want the other currencies to convert on the fly to whatever currency you have selected? Or did you just want to compare how much each currency contributed?

Hi gallant,

First, i need a filter for the currency so i need to show only 1 currency per time.
Second, I have 3 amounts per currency X amount/$ for paid version, X amount/$ for free version (which is by advertising) and X amount/$ for both. So i have 3 amounts per currency.
Basically i need 2 filters:
Currency: US/EUR/CAD
License type: Paid/Ad/Both

I hope this is clearly than the previous explanation.
Thanks in advance

I just need to compare how much each currency contribution and by license type, so i have 3 differents amounts per currency because of license type.

Ok, I see what you need.  If my assumptions are correct, you have 10 columns of data: 1 for date, and 1 for each license type for each currency.  You then need two controls to select which column(s) of data to present in the chart.  This is doable, but will require a bit of custom coding to make it happen, as there isn't anything in the API that will do this for you.  As a starting point, I wrote a hack that turns the CategoryFilter control into a column selector (see http://jsfiddle.net/asgallant/WaUu2/); check it out and see if that works similar to what you want.

You can test the code; the message is just a standard Creative Commons license granting you the right to use the code according to the terms set forth here.  When you opened the link there should have been a chart and a control in the lower right pane; if they didn't show up then either there is a bug I am unaware of in my code or you have javascript turned off in your browser.
