We have pushed a new release candidate (RC).

Candidate release date: September 10, 2012

Anticipated production release date: September 10, 2012

Prominent changes
  • HTML Tooltip - Support for custom HTML tooltip content for data points, categories and annotations (certain core charts only). Documentation coming up soon!
  • Look Mom, No IFrame! - With the exception of IE 8, charts are no longer drawn inside an IFrame by default. If you're feelin' retro you can bring it back by setting the option forceIFrame: true.

Other changes
  • Removed the strictFirstColumnType option. As you recall this was a temporary remedy for backward compatibility. Please refer to this help section for proper solutions.
  • GeoChart: New option, tooltip.trigger, which works the same way as in the core charts.
  • GeoChart: Improved border colors.
  • ChartRangeFilter: You can now leave the control area while panning/zooming.
  • ChartRangeFilter: Fixed occasional crash when moving one handles over another.
  • Significant performance improvements when drawing charts with a domain axis of type date.

If your system uses the Visualization API for commercial and / or important production purposes we recommend you test the RC and use the opportunity to provide feedback to us prior to the production release.

Nice! Looking forward to the documentation!
I really hope the HTML tooltips will work for geochart, will be really nice.

Sorry to disappoint you Carlos, but HTML tooltips will not be available for GeoCharts in this release.
However, once enough feedback is gathered, we hope to introduce this feature in a future release.

Nice job, guys.  HTML-capable tooltips will be a big help.
