Hi,
I want to demo the Motion Chart,  but the conference room where this will be done has no internet connection.  What are my options for running the motion chart standalone for a demo?

Thanks,
Manuel Fastbinder

You can't.  The API requires an active internet connection to function.

Trend Compass is a new concept in viewing statistics and trends in an
animated way by displaying in one chart 5 axis (X, Y, Time, Bubble
size & Bubble color) instead of just the traditional X and Y axis. It
could be used in analysis, research, presentation etc.

Isn't it a bit disingenuous to call this a "new concept"?

It's just a clone of Hans Roslings' trendalyzer, as used by GapMinder.org and also purchased by Google to become the MotionChart.
You can see it demonstrated in this 2006 TED talks video: http://www.ted.com/talks/hans_rosling_shows_the_best_stats_you_ve_ever_seen.html

A straight clone isn't much use, especially when its a product you must pay for and the MotionChart is free.
What we *really* need is a flash-free html version that could run on all those corporate iPads, then you'd have something worthy of a second look.
