How to show loading - In Google Spreadsheet API

I am loading in quite a bit of data.  I have filters in place on the spreadsheet - when you change the filters and hit submit the spreadsheet displays with what you filtered for, but for about 10secs (during the retrieving of the data) you sit and wait without any visual cues that the data is loading...  Is there a way to add a loading bar or have the mouse show as a hour glass or anything else?

Find a "loading" animation that you like (google "AJAX loading animation" for examples; this site has a roundup of different options on the javascript end).  When you have found a solution that you like, you just need to trigger the animation before starting the query and turn it off when the query returns.
